About us

Hosts by conviction

Our top priority is that you feel at home with us: To create a ‘home’ for you when you can't be at home.

Our newly built boarding house is located on a property that has been home to the Klodt family for several generations.
In addition to the residential house, Hubert (master baker) and Paula Klodt's bakery and first sales outlet were located there.
As the first-born son of four children, Hubert Klodt took over his parents' business and continued to run it until 2000.

While his parents were still alive, they expressed the wish to one day create ‘something special’ on this property.
Various ideas were forged and in the end it was clear: we would create a ‘special’ living space here, a ‘temporary home’.

The idea was born and after a good two years of planning and construction, we were finally able to open our ‘Refugium am Wasserturm’ in March 2020. A ‘heart project’ that was handed over to our daughter Karolin Michel in January 2021 and is now being continued in the family tradition.
